English Writing - How We Assess
English Writing Progress Steps
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
Year 1 | Year 1 | Year 1 (Greater Depth) | Year 2 | Year 2 | Year 2 (Greater Depth), Year 3 (Working Towards Expected Standard) |
7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | 11 | 12 |
Year 3 (Meeting Expected Standard) | Year 4 (Meeting Expected Standard) | Year 5 (Meeting Expected Standard) | Year 6 (Working Towards Expected Standard) | Year 6 (Meeting Expected Standard) | Year 6 (Greater Depth) |
Each skill within the step has to be met (achieved and secure) for the grade to be awarded. It is not best fit (they cannot just have some of the skills) in the majority of cases.
End of year school reports will show the following wording:
Above Age Related Expectations = Greater Depth
Meeting Age Related Expectations = Meeting Expected Standard
Below Age Related Expectations = Working Towards Expected Standard
