PRIMARY CLIMATE CONFERENCE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Our JTAs attended the above event recently with other primary schools from the Borough to encourage children to discuss climate change in line with COP26 taking place. This conference was organised for Richmond schools by ‘Habitats and Heritage’ – a charity that acts for the natural and historic environment in south and west London. Each school was given a role to play which included the UK Government, climate scientist, supermarket giant and our role which was as international climate leader. As well as writing a speech, helped by a local youth leader, they had to discuss several climate related subjects, such as local and global transport issues and the effect on food supplies from climate change. They joined in a lively debate to finish the morning off!

Our thanks to Grace, Ecaterina, Bella and Poppy M for taking part and giving such thought to climate change issues.
